Liposuction Surgery

Liposuction, including ultrasonic and tumescent liposuction, is used to firm
your body and shape it beyond anything attainable through dieting and
exercise. This is achieved by removing fat and fat cells using a hollow
tube called a cannula. By moving the cannula back and forth through the
fat, it vacumes the fat out through the tube.

Stubborn fat deposits resistant to diet and exercise may be reduced with a surgical technique known as liposuction (“lipoplasty”). This body sculpting procedure may be performed in specific areas of the body. The most popular areas where liposuction is performed are the chin, cheeks, neck, abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, and knees. For optimal results, patients may choose to undergo multiple procedures in addition to liposuction, such as tummy tuck surgery (“abdominoplasty”) or breast lift surgery (“mastopexy”); both of which are excellent body contouring procedures.

Different techniques may be performed when undergoing liposuction, such as tumescent liposuction, ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL), or super-wet liposuction. A qualified surgeon will suggest the best technique to be performed for the patient depending on the results desired.
